The Richmond SF a true gem in San Francisco
This place was recommended to my wife and for her birthday week, we decided to go and check this amazing place for a special occasion. We arrived a little early, so we had to wait until 6 PM. The server opened the door and invited us to come in. I have to say it was a totally new experience as soon as I walked in. Feels very cozy and intimate, there are curtains that create a separate space for almost every table. They have just a few available and they don’t push you to go and you are invited to stay for as long as you want. The server was great. The owner/chef comes to greet you and take the order. I was fascinated with the passion he described each plate. You can notice he enjoys cooking and makes you feel he wants to offer you the best of his menu. I wasn’t sure what to order for an entry and decide to go with soup and salad. He looked at me like saying “I have so much better plates” and I was happy to ask for his recommendation. It didn’t disappoint. In a few words, I think this place is perfect for a special occasion. The food is delicious and the whole experience makes you feel you want to come back.
They have two tasting menus. One is a 3-course for $50 each person and the second one is a 5-course menu for $79. You can see the full menu here
I ordered the Red Wine Braised Short Rib & Maine Diver Scallop, the seared New York Stake with potato hash and Swiss chard and for dessert can’t remember but I do remember it was delicious. My wife ordered the Crispy Pancetta, Onion, Fennel Brie & Potato Wrap, Braised duck and fettuccine and for dessert the Warm Chocolate & Peanut Butter Torte. We shared our dishes and we both concluded that the food was extremely good.
I found that the price we paid was more than fair for the quality of the food, service and ambience. Hope we come back to try some more of their menu.
Hope you go and have a great experience as we did.
