Burma Love in the Mission

Burma Love in the Mission

Last Friday I was in the mission and asked to my girlfriend where she would like to eat. So, she said “Let’s try Burma love”. Was early and we were lucky to find a parking space close to the restaurant. We were early, and we had to wait until 5pm. There were others waiting also. I have seen the place before when walking through Valencia and it looked nice but didn’t have a clear idea of the ambiance.

I have to say that the decoration is very modern. I love the fact that you can feel the Burma culture but is not overdone. The place is very clean and feels cozy. They have noise reduction panels in the ceiling that make it less noisy. A big problem with most restaurants. The space between the tables is very good so you don’t feel in an overcrowded space. The plates are very nice too, they are very aesthetic and with the right size. I don’t like those plates that are so big that you feel there is no more space in the table and one of them will fall off the table if you are not careful enough.

The service was good, they help each other so you don’t depend on one waitress only. The have this system with tablets that allows them to take the order from the table and send it directly to the kitchen saving them and you time. All of them were very polite and on time. I definitely recommend you the experience.

As for the drinks I ordered Thai Iced tea and was good, not the best but quite good. My girlfriend ordered Gran Passione Blend Merlot and she really liked, few times I hear her saying a wine is very good. I was able to triy it too and I agree with her.

Now let’s talk about the food. We ordered as an entrée, the Platha & Dip which is basically a thin pastry-bread with coconut chicken curry for dipping. My girlfriend ordered a Tea leaf salad and for my part I had to order the Burmese Style Curry with lamb and Jazmin rice. All of it was very good!!! Is definitely a good place to have a delicious food.

The prices are a little steep for what I like to pay but I think the whole experience make it worthy. I wouldn’t go every week, but I will come back for sure.
