Benziger, a biodynamic Winery

After watching the biggest little farm movie, I end up fascinated with sustainable and biodynamic farming. And it happens that my wife loves organic wine, so I came with the idea of finding an organic winery close from home. So, I found the Benziger winery in Glen Ellen, California. Right next to the Jack London State Historic Park, which I also recommend visiting.

The family have been growing grapes on Sonoma Mountains for over 30 years now. The place is beautiful, you can see different animals including birds and owls, cows, sheep, and chicken among other species. They help to keep the pest population in control and generate fertilizer. All is made in house. It took some time, but they were able to create a balanced, healthy, and natural place to work and produce amazing wine.

Now lest talk about the wine. As soon as I tasted the wine, I was already noticing the quality and amazing flavor. My favorites were the Paradiso di Maria Sauvignon Blanc and the Joaquin’s Inferno. And of course, I became a member of their wine club.
